Sugar Balm or Soap Scrub?

Sugar Balm or Soap Scrub?

Lacey Haegen

To Soap Scrub, or to Sugar Balm, that is the question!

What makes these Sugar Scrubs different? And, how to choose which one!?

Curious? Read on!

SOAP SCRUB

Soap Scrubs are available in two scents: Nourish and Essential.

They are made from whipped soap + sugar to cleanse and exfoliate.

Nourish Soap Scrub is gently scented with Rose, Sandalwood, and Sweet Orange and is sultry, warm, and delicate. Essential Soap Scrub is gently scented with Peppermint, Eucalyptus, and Sweet Orange and is bright, invigorating, and robust.

CHOOSE A SOAP SCRUB WHEN:

You want an exfoliator that also cleanses.  You want a body scrub that leaves your skin feeling squeaky clean.  You want an exfoliator that turns into a creamy soap that is perfect for shaving.

HOW TO USE:

1. Cleanse skin with bar soap.

2. Scoop a shell-sized scoop of scrub into the palm of your hands, add a bit of water, and rub hands together.

3. Massage scrub anywhere on body (avoid face and décolleté).

4. Massage until the sugar is mostly dissolved, rinse thoroughly.

5.* BONUS: once the sugar has dissolved, use the creamy soap base as a shaving 'cream'!

FUN FACT:  Soap Scrubs are the perfect way to prepare for a spray tan because they exfoliate, cleanse, and soften the skin, without leaving any residue on the skin that may inhibit the spray tan liquid from adhering evenly.

SUGAR BALMS

Sugar Balms are available in four scents:

Almond Coconut
Citrus
Gardenia Bergamot
Lemon Lavender

They are made from botanical butters and oils + sugar to moisturize and exfoliate.

CHOOSE A SUGAR BALM WHEN:

You want an exfoliator that also moisturizes.  You want a body scrub that leaves your skin feeling buttery soft.  You want an exfoliator that also takes the place of body cream! Your skin is extra-dry.  Use this all over your body and also as a regular hand treatment at your kitchen sink.

HOW TO USE:

1. Cleanse skin with bar soap.

2. Scoop a shell-sized scoop of scrub into the palm of your hands, add a bit of water, and rub hands together.

3. Massage scrub anywhere on body (avoid face and décolleté).

4. Massage until the sugar is mostly dissolved, rinse gently.

5. Pat (not wipe) skin dry with towel.
